Why Have We Made This Promise?

We believe that for-profit businesses have an immense capacity to help heal our planet and we started this company because we want to be a part of that healing. We want to get amongst it. Not just talk about how much we care, but take real, honest and tangible steps towards positive change.

We fight for what we love and we are just soooooo in love with our wild spaces. They change us, they shape us, they bring us home to ourselves – and we need to do our part to protect and preserve them.

Through our ‘One Pound Promise’ initiative, we commit to taking care of our shared wild spaces by removing a pound of waste for every product sold, and hosting community cleanups across Canada. We've cleaned up 58,469lbs of waste so far and we couldn't have done it without the support of people like you!

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, which is a floating landfill of garbage in the Pacific Ocean, is twice the size of Texas.

(Let that sink in for a sec).

Mostly composed of plastics, which take 500-1000 years to degrade. 1 use, 1000 years. Yuck. We need to do better. We need to BE better.

The tides need to turn, we need to become more conscious of our consumption, corporations need to step up in a huge way and we want to help be a part of that change.

Why Clean Up?

Well, the planet is kinda hurting right now.

The amount of waste in wild spaces is so staggering and heartbreaking and it essentially all comes back to corporations and industry. Too much waste. Single use plastics. Disposable everything. 160,000 plastic bags are used globally EVERY SECOND, 5 trillion produced annually.

Without ALL of us making the changes we so desperately need to make, we know that these cleanups are just a bandaid. Thats why our community events are heavily focused on EDUCATION, because when we know better, we do better.

We NEED to find a better way. Community, collaboration and connection feel like a good place to start.

Barron Canyon Cleanup

Saturday, September 28th, 2024

Barron Canyon is the gateway to Algonquin Provincial Park and is an AMAZING wild space, but has been heavily abused over the years.

We are cleaning up a shooting range that's been a hot spot for folks to bring old vehicles, used furniture and TVs to practice shooting, leaving a massive mess behind. We want to clean it up!!! We'll be replacing broken appliances and shattered glass with giant hay bales for target practice and leaving signs and garbage bins for proper shell casing disposal! And we'd love your help!!

Our cleanups are SO fun! We work hard, we get dirty, we laugh our buns off! Dress appropriately, bring a pair of work/gardening gloves and closed toe shoes and LET'S ROLLLLL!!!!!!!

WHERE: Barron Canyon Road, KM 11. (Left side of the road - we'll have our tent set up and you cant miss us!!)

We'll have snacks and tunes and we'll all socially distance responsibly and it'll be the BEES KNEES, YA'LL!!!!

Laurentian Hills Cleanup

50 people joined us for a wonderful day outside, cleaning up an illegal shooting range and dump site in the Ottawa Valley.

We cleaned up 11, 424lbs of waste in under 3 hours!!!!!!

Pontiac Cleanup

What a wonderful day in Pontiac, Quebec. We had a small but mighty crew out to cleanup a HUGE illegal dumping site in rural Eastern Quebec.

This area, near Klukeville, is so, so gorgeous, but due to its remoteness, has a big illegal dumping issue and we were so stoked to have a hand in cleaning it up!

Thank you to all that joined us and the municipality of Pontiac for the dumpster and taking care of responsible disposal!

Kingston Cleanup

Oh mannnn what a wonderful event! 30 people came together to help cleanup a massive illegal dump site on the outskirts of Kingston. We successfully removed 19,550lbs of waste in three hours.

Thank you to all that showed up to help and to the City of Kingston for providing the dumpsters and responsible removal!!

Barron Canyon Cleanup

Barron Canyon is the gateway to Algonquin Provinial Park and is an amazing wild space for hikers, bikers, fisherman, hunters, campers, foragers, birders and so much more. This place is TRULY a provincial gem, but has been heavily abused in recent years.

33 of us cleaned up an area that has been used for target shooting and had LOTS of illegal dumping.

We had SUCH a successful day in the woods, working collectively to leave our wild spaces better than we found them. Thank you so much to all who participated!!!

Hawaii Big Island Cleanup

Anupaya and Women Who Explore do Hawaii!

Because of Hawaii's close proximity to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, thousands of pounds of ocean debris wash up on the beautiful and remote beaches of the South Shore every year, making these coastlines some of the dirtiest in the world.

We teamed up with Women Who Explore, Hawaii Wildlife Fund and Surfrider Hilo to host an epic Ocean Cleanup. This ALL WOMENS group cleaned up one of the islands most remote beaches and removed 870lbs in one hour!

We are so excited to head back to this absolutely gorgeous part of the world and do our part in cleaning up the oceans plastic.

Forest Lea Park Cleanup

Forest Lea Park is a wonderful and well loved community resource in Laurentian Hills. There was lots of debris in the park, along the road and in the ditches.

Over 20 people joined our Anupaya Ambassador and they cleaned up 120lbs of waste!

Algonquin Train Cleanup

The Algonquin Trail is an incredible natural resource for the community and is a hub for recreational activities such as hiking, running and cycling. Due to illegal dumping and misuse, it needed some major TLC!

27 volunteers showed up to offer their support and we managed to clean up 2040lbs of garbage in just under 2 hours!!
