A Quiet Stay Near Algonquin’s East Gate

Stay just one hour from Algonquin Park’s East Gate — where the experience is quieter, wilder and far less crowded.

Anupaya offers a peaceful place to stay after long days exploring the park — with private cabins, a secluded beach and space to truly unwind.

The Side of Algonquin Most People Miss

While many visitors enter Algonquin from the busy southern gates, the East Gate offers a completely different experience - quieter trails, fewer people and a deeper connection to the landscape.

From Anupaya, you’re just one hour away from some of the park’s most incredible, best kept secrets:

HIGH FALLS - gorgeous natural rock water slides, jumping rocks, cascading water and absolutely PERFECT for those hot summer days.

BARRON CANYON - one of the most breathtaking lookout hikes in Ontario. Seriously, not to be missed.

Endless lakes, trails and backcountry routes — without the crowds.

Rooted in Stillness, Designed for Connection

A Nature Retreat for Rest & Renewal

Anupaya Cabin Co. is a low-impact beachfront resort offering thoughtfully designed cabins for personal getaways, company retreats, and intimate weddings. Anupaya invites you to slow down, settle in, and find rest in the rhythm of nature.

Our cottages are tucked along a pristine stretch of private beach in Deep River, Ontario - just over two hours from Ottawa and located near the eastern edge of Algonquin Park. With 1,200 feet of white sand and sweeping views of the Laurentian Hills, it’s a place where nature leads and time loosens.

We respectfully acknowledge that Anupaya is located on the traditional, unceded territory of the Anishinabewaki and Omamiwininiwag Peoples.

“You have one life. It’s complex and beautiful and yours. Let it be real and inconvenient and magnificent. Let it be disastrous and real and stunning. Remember, this is your life, your path, the pathless path.”

A Day at Anupaya + Algonquin

Our Wilderness Resort and Beach Side Cabins are the Perfect Home Base for Your Algonquin Adventures

Start your morning slowly - coffee in hand, watching the most breathtaking sunrise over the river.

Then head out for the day - a beautiful easy drive into Algonquin’s East Gate, where things feel quieter and more open.

Begin with Barron Canyon - a short, easy hike with unbelievably gorgeous views that feel far bigger than the effort it takes to get there.

Then make your way to High Falls - a winding trail through the forest that opens up to smooth rock, rushing water and magical natural water slides. Bring lunch. Stay awhile. Swim, rest, stretch out on the warm stone.

By the time you head back, you’ll feel it - that good kind of tired. Return to your cabin at Anupaya. Light a fire on the beach. Cook something simple. Let the air, the sounds, the stillness settle back in. And fall fast asleep to the soft sounds of the river…

Close Enough for a Weekend, Far Enough to Exhale

A Quiet Escape Near Algonquin Park

Our philosophy is rooted in the healing power of nature and the belief that slowing down helps us remember what really matters, and we are proud to be a space of diversity, inclusivity, and belonging. All are welcome here - regardless of race, gender, or orientation.

Slow Travel, Deeper Rest

Why Choose Anupaya

At Anupaya, we believe travel isn’t always about doing more - it’s about doing less, more intentionally.

We created this space for those craving stillness. For the ones tired of always rushing, always scrolling, always chasing. Our cabins don’t come with distractions - they come with silence, shoreline, and space.

Slower travel is about presence over pressure. It’s finding beauty in the unplanned, magic in the mundane, and meaning in the moments that aren’t measured by output.

Here, time softens. You can sleep in, stretch long, watch the light shift - and still feel like you’ve truly arrived.

Many of our guests spend their days exploring Algonquin and return here to rest, reset and take it all in.

"Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience."

— Ralph Waldo Emerson
